How to install KISS IDE on Windows 8
Step 1
Do NOT plug the KIPR Link into your computer until told to do so! Boot into Windows 8 normally.
Step 2
Move mouse into top right corner and click on the search icon, then search for “Settings” and click "Settings". Then search for “General” and click on "General Settings".
Step 3
Choose "Advanced Startup" and click “Restart Now”.
Step 4
Click “Troubleshoot”.
Step 5
Click “Advanced Options”.
Step 6
Click “Startup Settings”.
Step 7
Click “Restart”.
Step 8
Choose option 7.
Step 9
Log in to Windows 8.
Step 10
Plug in your KIPR Link via USB cable.
Step 11
Turn on your KIPR Link.
Step 12
Install this file:
KISS Platform 4.2.8.exe.
Step 13
Search for “Device Manager” and find “Gadget Serial v2.4”. Right click on “Gadget Serial v2.4” and choose "update driver software", then choose to search automatically. A low COM port is good (anything less than 100 should work fine).
